Village halls are Wellingborough's secret weapon
Some of the nicest party spaces aren't in town at all. Great Doddington Memorial Hall, a couple of miles out, offers lower rates for children's parties and was refurbished recently. It's busy with regular groups on weekdays but tends to have more weekend space than you'd expect.
Earls Barton, Wollaston and Finedon all have halls too. Worth a few phone calls before you settle anywhere.
A village hall also tends to be quieter, with no other party booming through the wall. If the guest list is small, a village hall can feel much less empty than a big town venue. Fifteen kids in a cosy room makes for a far livelier atmosphere.
In town
Glamis Hall on Goldsmith Road in Queensway has a main hall with a stage and a smaller room. A stage isn't essential for a kids show, but it does mean parents at the back can actually see what's going on.
Redwell Leisure Centre runs its own children's parties if you're after something sporty. That's a separate offer from what we do, so check with them directly about how theirs works.
Parking matters more than you'd think. A hall with its own car park means guests arrive on time and the entertainer can unload without carrying kit down the street, so it's worth asking when you book.
How a children's entertainer in Wellingborough runs the party
Most of our entertainers turn up early, set up their own music and get going as soon as the first few children arrive. No awkward standing about while you wait for latecomers.
Then it's magic, games with prizes, a break for food and usually balloon modelling to finish. The birthday child gets a moment in the spotlight, which is often the bit parents film.
You don't need to organise any games yourself. That's the whole point.
Things to check with any entertainer
Whoever you book, it's fair to ask about a DBS check and public liability insurance, and how much floor space they need. Good entertainers won't mind being asked at all.
Ask us the same questions and we'll confirm the details for your booking. Our FAQ page covers a few more, and the quote form is there when you're ready.
It's also worth asking how long they've been doing children's parties and what age groups they enjoy most. You'll learn a lot from the answer, and the best ones light up talking about it.
