We run Party Magicians from Corby as part of Fine Entertainments Ltd. You fill in one form, we tell you who's free and what it costs, and you decide.
Big families, mixed ages
Lots of Birmingham parties are as much a family do as a kids' party. You might have a toddler, a ten-year-old and three grandparents on the front row. Our family party entertainers are used to that crowd and keep the jokes working on two levels.
So tell us who's coming, not just the birthday child's age. It helps us suggest the right person.
Older siblings can be the toughest audience in the room. A clever entertainer often gives them a job, holding a prop or being the 'expert' who checks the trick, and suddenly they're having as much fun as the little ones.
Halls local parents use
Church and community halls are the backbone of party season here. In Harborne, St Mary's Parish Centre on Vivian Road has a main hall and a youth hall that families hire, and it's run largely by volunteers, so you'll be expected to leave it tidy.
Birmingham City Council also hires out space for children's parties at Handsworth Wellbeing Centre, including the sports hall. A sports hall is great for running games, though you'll want the children sat close together for the magic so nobody's watching from forty feet away.
Whichever hall you choose, ask how long the booking includes for setting up and clearing away. Volunteer-run venues in particular will want the room back as they found it.
Why a kids party magician in Birmingham suits a big hall
Big halls can swallow a party. Children scatter, the noise bounces off the walls and parents end up refereeing. A magician pulls everyone into one spot and gives the afternoon a shape: show, games, food, then a big finish.
Most of our kids party magicians bring their own music, and many can add balloon modelling at the end so there's something to take home.
It also means you get to sit down for a bit. Possibly with a cup of tea.
Before you book the hall
Check what time you can get in, not just when the party starts. The entertainer usually needs a little time to set up before the first guests arrive.
Ask about parking near the door for unloading, and whether the hall has a kitchen for the food break. Then send us your date and we'll match it up.
If you're unsure whether a hall or your home suits the numbers better, our children's entertainer guide has a few pointers. Otherwise send the quote form and we'll talk it through.
