Shows that work for every generation
The best family shows have a layer for the adults. A joke the children miss, a trick that has dad leaning forward. Our family party entertainers are good at that balance.
And for the children, there's plenty of shouting out, volunteering and chaos. In a controlled way, mostly. Volunteers get picked, props go missing and reappear in someone's pocket.
Mixed audiences also mean mixed languages and backgrounds in some families. Magic is brilliant for that, because so much of it is visual. A rope that won't stay cut needs no translation.
Where Leicester parties happen
Some parents keep it easy with a soft play party. 360 Play at Meridian Leisure Park runs birthday parties with play time and a party area for food.
For a hall with a show, church and parish halls are popular. Knighton Parish Centre on Church Lane has three rooms for hire and a private car park, which is a real plus when half the family is driving in from Oadby or Wigston.
Big family parties are where a hall with good parking really pays off. Nobody wants a queue of cars blocking the street while the cake is being carried in.
Booking a kids party magician in Leicester for a hall
Book the hall for a little longer than the party itself. You'll want time to decorate, and the entertainer needs a few minutes to set up before anyone arrives.
Check whether the hall has a kitchen for warming food, and whether there's a limit on music volume. Then send us the date through the quote form.
Most of our kids party magicians can also run games and hand out prizes, which keeps the younger ones busy while the food goes out.
Safety questions to ask
It's sensible to ask any entertainer about DBS checks and public liability insurance, and some halls ask you for proof. We'll confirm the details for your booking so you've got what you need.
While you're at it, ask the hall about their rules on decorations, candles and confetti. Some venues are strict about those, and it's better to know before you've bought the balloons.
Halls sometimes have their own checklist for hirers, covering things like fire exits and how many people the room holds. Keep a copy handy on the day so you're not hunting for it when the caretaker asks.
