We cover Watford, Bushey and the villages around. Fill in one form and a real person replies, usually the same day. Tell us the age of the birthday child and we'll take it from there.
Watford halls for children's parties
West Watford Community Centre on Harwoods Road lists children's parties and family gatherings among its uses. Its main hall holds around 50, with self-catering allowed.
Watford Leisure Centre Woodside, out towards Garston, also hosts kids' birthday parties. That's their own offer, so check with the centre about what's possible. Ask about weekend availability early, as Saturday afternoons go first.
There are plenty of church halls dotted around town as well. Ask your local one, as many are happy to take a Saturday afternoon party. Wherever you go, ask about tables and chairs. Most halls provide them, but it's always worth checking how many before the day.
Very first parties
For a first or second birthday, the guests are usually babies, toddlers and lots of grown-ups. A short, gentle show with bubbles, music and simple silliness works best. Grown-ups usually love it just as much as the toddlers.
Our toddler party entertainer page explains what's usually included. It's the kind of show where the parents end up singing along too.
Keep it to around 30 to 45 minutes of entertainment. Little ones run out of steam quickly, and that's fine.
Growing up with a kids party magician in Watford
By five or six, kids want more. Games, prizes, a proper magic show and a chance to be a helper on stage. Prizes become a big deal at this age.
And by nine or ten, they want to work out how the tricks are done. Good entertainers love that challenge, and it's often the kids who swore they were too old for a magician who end up laughing the loudest.
Tell us the age and we'll match the style. Younger siblings are welcome to join in, and they usually do.
Summer in Cassiobury Park
Lots of Watford families hold summer birthdays in Cassiobury Park. If you're thinking about that, remember shade, a backup plan and somewhere the kids can sit. Toilets matter as well, so pick a spot near the café or a building if you can.
Tell us the plan when you get a quote and the entertainer will let you know what they need. Our family party entertainer page is useful if the grown-ups are joining in too. Shout if you've got any questions before booking.
Bring rugs or picnic blankets for the kids to sit on. A grassy slope makes a great natural audience, as long as everyone's facing away from the sun.
