We find children's entertainers across St Albans, Harpenden and the surrounding villages. Ask once, get a straight answer on availability and price, and only book if you're happy. Tell us your plans and we'll match the right entertainer.
Halls in and around the city
Cottonmill Community & Cycle Centre on Old Oak has a Small Hall pitched at children's parties and smaller functions, plus a car park, which isn't always a given in St Albans. Ask the centre what's included when you book.
St Michael's has three halls on one booking system. The Memorial Hall on Branch Road is the one listed as fine for a bouncy castle or soft play indoors. The others aren't, so check before you plan one.
Book early for weekends in term time. Halls here go fast. Parking near the city centre can be tricky, so think about guests driving in from Harpenden or Hatfield when you pick a hall.
Swimming parties and shows
Westminster Lodge on Holywell Hill also takes pool parties. Fun, but swimming wipes kids out fast, and there's not much shared time once everyone's changed. Pool parties there are their own booking, so check the details with the centre.
If you'd rather have something where everyone stays dry and sits together, a magic show in a hall is a nice contrast. Some families even do both on different years.
If you do go for a pool party, a short show at home afterwards for family can round off the day nicely. Just keep it short, as everyone will be tired.
What a children's entertainer in St Albans brings
Most of our entertainers do a full show, games with prizes and music. Many add balloon modelling, and there's usually a moment for the birthday child.
For older kids, take a look at our 9 to 12 year olds page. The show changes quite a lot at that age, with more mind-reading and fewer silly hats.
For younger ones, our 6 to 8 year olds page covers the classic games-and-magic mix. Not sure which suits? Tell us the age and we'll pick for you.
Verulamium in summer
Verulamium Park is lovely for a summer picnic party. Keep it simple, though, and book an indoor room too if the forecast's iffy. Toddlers in particular enjoy the open grass.
Send the details through the quote form and we'll come back with options. A quick message is all it takes to see who's around on your date.
Bring rugs, bring sun cream and keep the food simple. A cold box of sandwiches and fruit works better in the park than anything fancy.
