Children's entertainer Oxford: pair a bouncy castle with a proper magic show

Bouncy castles and magic shows are both classics, and in Oxford plenty of parents end up wanting both. That's easy to arrange if you plan it right. Book a children's entertainer Oxford children enjoy for the calmer half of the party, and let the bouncing take care of the energy. A kids party magician Oxford parents find through us will fit around the rest of your plans.

Community centres with party packages

Oxford City Council's Rose Hill Community Centre runs a bounce party package, with exclusive use of a giant bouncy castle in its Bill Buckingham Ballroom. You can book it for two or three hours. It's a council-run centre in the south-east of the city, and bookings go through the centre directly.

In the north of the city, Cutteslowe Community Centre is hired out for children's parties and has an updated kitchen. You can take the whole centre or individual rooms.

Other community centres around the city, from Blackbird Leys to Headington, take party bookings as well. It's worth asking at the one nearest your house.

How to split bouncing and the show

Bounce first. Children arrive full of fizz, so let them burn it off. Then sit everyone down for food, and bring the entertainer in afterwards while they're calmer and full of sandwiches.

The castle has to be off-limits while the show runs. Otherwise you'll have half the audience sneaking back for one more go. A quick word with the hall about switching it off, or the entertainer setting up in a different room, sorts that out.

If you've only got the room for two hours, keep the show slightly shorter. A tight half hour of magic followed by games can work brilliantly in a short slot.

What a kids party magician in Oxford brings to the party

Most of our kids party magicians do magic with lots of volunteers, plus games and music. Plenty also do balloon modelling, which is a lovely way to wrap up.

For very young guests, a toddler entertainer with songs and bubbles is usually a better fit than a full magic set. We'll help you choose if you're not sure.

Older children may be a little too cool for school by ten or eleven. Shows for that age lean on mind-reading and clever puzzles rather than silly songs.

Get your date checked

Send us the date and venue through the quote form. We'll reply with who's free and a price, usually the same day.

It's always worth asking any entertainer about DBS checks and insurance. We'll confirm the details for your booking.

We find entertainers across the city and the county, so tell us where the party is and we'll look for someone close by. Villages around Oxford are covered too, from Wheatley to Kidlington.

How booking works

  1. Tell us about the party

Fill in one short form with the date, place, the child's age and how many are coming. It takes a couple of minutes.

  2. We find who's free

A real person checks which entertainers suit your party and can make your date, then replies, usually the same day, with a price.

  3. You decide

Have a think and ask us anything. There's no obligation, and nothing's booked until you say yes.

Lewis was amazing at capturing the attention of about 20 seven year olds with close-up magic for a whole hour where they remained calm and quiet for the whole time. Their parents were equally, if not more excited by it!

9 year old birthday party. 10 boisterous boys. Magic Dave managed the room brilliantly and captivated the audience. Caused peels of laughter, gasps of amazement and guffaws from the adults at gags aimed over the audience's heads. Definitely recommend.

We booked Matthew through Fine Entertainments having had no contact with either of them before but we needn't have worried. Fine Entertainments made the booking process simple and painless and were easy to communicate with and as for Matthew, he was fantastic. We are a…
