Kids' parties in Southampton

Children's entertainer Southampton: a hall-hire checklist for busy parents

Hiring a hall is the bit of party planning most parents find fiddly. Booking forms, deposits, rules about this and that. Getting a children's entertainer Southampton kids will love is the fun part. So here's a quick checklist for the boring bit, plus how to book a kids party magician Southampton families can rely on.

  • Parties for ages 2 to 12
  • Reply from a real person, usually the same day
  • Entertainers across the UK

Party Magicians is part of Fine Entertainments Ltd, a Corby-based agency. One form, a real person, no obligation.

Check the booking deadline

Some halls need plenty of notice. West End Parish Council, for example, asks for bookings at least fourteen days before the date at both Townhill Farm Community Centre and West End Parish Centre. Other halls may want even longer, so ask before you send out invitations.

Two weeks sounds like ages. It isn't, once the invitations have gone out.

Many halls also want a deposit and a signed form before the date is confirmed. Get that done as soon as the hall says yes, so nobody else slips in ahead of you.

Check what kind of parties they take

Lots of community halls are happy with children's parties but won't take teenage birthdays. Both West End halls say so on their booking pages. Fine for a seven-year-old's party, but worth knowing if you're planning ahead for an older sibling.

Also check the day. Townhill Farm isn't available for hire during weekday daytimes, so it's a weekend or evening venue for parties.

Opening hours matter too. Find out the earliest you can get in and the latest you must be out, and plan the party inside those times with a little slack.

Check the space for a kids party magician in Southampton

Most of our kids party magicians need a clear area at one end of the room and the children sat in front. A main hall with a kitchen next door is ideal, because the food can be prepped while the show runs.

Sports halls can work too, but they're echoey. Keep the children grouped close to the front. That's a useful one to note early.

If the hall has a stage, it's tempting to use it. Often it's better not to, as little children prefer the entertainer down at their level where they can see everything close up.

Then book the entertainer

Once you've got a date, send it to us with the hall postcode through the quote form. We'll reply with who's free, a price and what's usually included, such as games, music and balloon modelling. If the hall has its own rules about music or setting up times, mention those too and we'll pass them on.

And ask about DBS checks and insurance. Some halls want to see proof, and we'll confirm the details for your booking.

With the hall and the entertainer both confirmed, the rest is mostly invitations, food and a cake. The bits you probably enjoy anyway.

How booking works

  1. Tell us about the party

Fill in one short form with the date, place, the child's age and how many are coming. It takes a couple of minutes.

  2. We find who's free

A real person checks which entertainers suit your party and can make your date, then replies, usually the same day, with a price.

  3. You decide

Have a think and ask us anything. There's no obligation, and nothing's booked until you say yes.
