Party Magicians is run by Fine Entertainments Ltd out of Corby, and we find entertainers across the city, from Crookes and Walkley to Handsworth and Totley. Here's a rough timeline that's worked for plenty of parents.
Eight weeks out: pick the date and the room
Saturday afternoons go quickly, so start here. Sheffield has some lovely old buildings that families hire. Burton Street Foundation in Hillsborough runs kids' parties in its Victorian complex and has free parking on site. Both are the sort of place local families book again and again.
Over in Nether Edge, St Andrew's Psalter Lane Church hires out a room that holds around seventy-five, with a kitchen on the same floor. Church halls like that are perfect for a show.
Book the room for a little longer than the party itself. An extra half hour either side gives you time to decorate and tidy without rushing.
Six weeks out: book your kids party magician in Sheffield
Send us your date, the venue postcode and the birthday child's age through the quote form. We'll come back with who's free and a price.
If you haven't fixed the venue yet, that's fine. Knowing roughly where helps us find someone close by. We're happy to hold off until you know.
We'll also let you know what's usually included, from games and music to prizes and balloon modelling, so there are no surprises on the day. If anything's unclear, just ask.
Two weeks out: sort the details
Confirm the timings with the hall and with your entertainer. Most of our performers need a little time to set up before guests arrive, and a clear space at one end of the room.
This is also when to ask about anything specific. A favourite character, a child who's nervous of loud noises, a sibling who'll want to help. Little details make a big difference.
It's worth checking DBS and insurance too. We'll confirm those for your booking.
On the day
Leave a parking spot near the door if you can. Steep streets and heavy kit don't mix. Then hand over to the entertainer and enjoy a cup of tea while somebody else runs the games for once.
Many of our entertainers do balloon modelling at the end, which makes home time a lot calmer. Children leave with a sword or a dog in hand rather than tearing round the hall looking for coats.
Afterwards, a quick thank you to the hall team goes a long way. Many of these places are run by volunteers, and they remember the families who leave the room tidy.
